Release Date: 28 January 2026
Effective Date: 28 January 2026
1. Purpose and Governance Framework
ZOOP is committed to maintaining a safe, lawful and respectful digital environment. This Content Moderation Policy establishes the principles, processes and governance framework through which ZOOP moderates content on its platform (the “Platform”), in compliance with applicable laws across jurisdictions.
This Policy applies globally and is designed to operate alongside ZOOP’s Child Safety & Child Sexual Abuse Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Content moderation is exercised to mitigate legal, safety and systemic risks, while respecting freedom of expression and proportionality, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
2. Scope of Application
This Policy applies to all content made available on the Platform, including text, images, audio, video, links and interactive features, whether generated, uploaded or shared by users, partners or third parties.
For the avoidance of doubt, this Policy also applies to content that is generated, assisted, modified or amplified, in whole or in part, through artificial intelligence tools or features provided by ZOOP. The use of such tools does not alter the applicability of this Policy or the responsibility of users to comply with it.
Users remain solely responsible for the content they post. ZOOP does not generally pre-screen all content and does not assume editorial responsibility, except where required by law.
3. Categories of Moderated Content
ZOOP may moderate content that is illegal, unlawful, harmful or otherwise incompatible with the safe and lawful operation of the Platform. This includes, without limitation, content involving criminal or unlawful activities, violence or threats, harassment, hate or discriminatory conduct, intellectual property infringements, misleading or deceptive practices, or content that is inappropriate or harmful to minors.
Content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is governed exclusively by ZOOP’s Child Safety & Child Sexual Abuse Policy and is subject to zero tolerance.
4. Moderation Principles
ZOOP’s content moderation activities are guided by the principles of legality, necessity, proportionality and transparency. Enforcement actions are taken based on the nature of the content, the context in which it appears, the risks involved and applicable legal obligations.
ZOOP relies on a combination of human review and technical tools to carry out content moderation and takes reasonable steps to ensure that individuals involved in moderation activities are appropriately supported and informed, in line with applicable laws and platform governance requirements.
ZOOP does not arbitrate private disputes between users and does not guarantee the accuracy, legality or appropriateness of user-generated content.
5. Detection and Reporting Mechanisms
ZOOP relies on a combination of user reports, internal review processes and, where lawful, automated or assisted detection tools to identify potentially problematic content.
Users are encouraged to report content that they believe violates this Policy or applicable law. Reports are reviewed in accordance with internal moderation procedures and prioritised based on risk, including potential harm to users, minors or the public.
6. Enforcement Measures
Where content is found to violate this Policy or applicable law, ZOOP may take appropriate enforcement actions, including content removal, restriction of visibility, temporary suspension of features or permanent account termination.
Enforcement decisions are taken at ZOOP’s discretion, taking into account the seriousness of the violation, recurrence, systemic risk considerations and applicable legal obligations.
7. Appeals, Legal Safeguards and Review
Where permitted by applicable law, users may request a review of certain moderation decisions through ZOOP’s designated processes. ZOOP does not guarantee reinstatement of content and reserves the right to maintain or reverse decisions following review.
Nothing in this Policy limits any rights users may have under applicable law to seek remedies before competent courts or authorities in the relevant jurisdiction, including in relation to legally protected forms of expression.
8. Jurisdictional Application
This Policy applies globally. ZOOP enforces content moderation in accordance with applicable local laws, including online safety, platform liability, public order and fundamental rights frameworks.
Where local laws impose additional or stricter obligations, ZOOP complies with those requirements through local procedures or technical measures without altering the substance of this Policy.
