ZOOP Child Safety & Child Sexual Abuse Policy
Release Date: 28 January 2026
Effective Date: 28 January 2026
1. Purpose, Safety by Design and Zero-Tolerance Commitment
ZOOP is committed to ensuring a safe, lawful and responsible digital environment and to protecting the rights, dignity and safety of children and minors worldwide. The protection of minors is a fundamental principle of ZOOP’s platform governance and prevails over considerations of user convenience, freedom of expression or commercial interest.
ZOOP applies child safety and risk mitigation principles by design and by default, taking reasonable steps to ensure that the Platform is conceived, developed and operated with the protection of minors in mind. These principles are implemented through a combination of governance, technical measures, operational processes and content moderation frameworks.
ZOOP applies a strict zero-tolerance approach to any form of child sexual abuse, exploitation or endangerment. This Policy reflects ZOOP’s obligations under applicable child protection, criminal law, online safety and platform liability regimes across jurisdictions and is intended to apply globally.
This Policy applies to all users, content, interactions and activities on the ZOOP platform (the “Platform”) and must be read together with ZOOP’s Content Moderation Policy, Terms and Conditions, Intellectual Property Policy and Privacy Policy.
2. Scope and Meaning of Child Sexual Abuse Material
For the purposes of this Policy, a child or minor means any individual under the age of 18, or under the age of majority as defined by applicable local law.
Child Sexual Abuse Material (“CSAM”) includes any content, in any format, that depicts, represents, describes or otherwise involves the sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or sexualisation of a minor. This includes visual, audio, written or symbolic material, whether real, simulated, stylised, animated, virtual or generated by artificial intelligence.
CSAM also includes grooming behaviour, sexual solicitation, sexually explicit communication involving minors, and any conduct or material intended to facilitate, encourage or normalise sexual contact with minors.
3. Absolute Prohibition
Any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation is strictly prohibited on the Platform. ZOOP does not permit the creation, upload, sharing, storage, transmission or facilitation of access to CSAM or related content under any circumstances.
This prohibition applies regardless of intent, context, artistic or fictional framing, claimed educational purpose or assertions of consent.
4. Immediate Removal and Enforcement
Where content or activity falling within the scope of this Policy is identified or reported, ZOOP will act without delay. Such content will be removed immediately and the associated account or accounts may be suspended or permanently terminated.
In matters involving child sexual abuse or exploitation, ZOOP does not apply warning systems, graduated enforcement or second-chance mechanisms.
5. Criminal Nature, Evidence Preservation and Mandatory Reporting
ZOOP recognises that child sexual abuse and exploitation constitute serious criminal offences in virtually all jurisdictions. Where required by applicable law, ZOOP may preserve and retain relevant information relating to suspected violations of this Policy for the purposes of reporting to, and cooperation with, competent law enforcement authorities or designated reporting bodies.
Such preservation and retention of information is carried out solely to the extent necessary, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and ZOOP’s Privacy Policy, and does not imply indefinite retention or general monitoring of users.
ZOOP may be legally required, and expressly reserves the right, to report suspected CSAM or related activity to competent authorities without prior notice to the user concerned, and to disclose relevant information or evidence as required by law.
6. Detection, Monitoring and Risk Mitigation
ZOOP may implement technical, organisational and procedural measures to detect, prevent and address violations of this Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law. These measures may include user reporting mechanisms, moderation workflows, prioritisation of reports involving minors and, where lawful, the use of automated or assisted detection technologies.
The objective of such measures is to mitigate risks to minors and ensure a prompt and effective response to illegal or harmful content, without imposing disproportionate monitoring obligations.
7. Priority Protection of Minors
Any report, signal or indication suggesting potential harm to a minor is treated as a matter of highest priority. ZOOP applies heightened scrutiny and accelerated response processes where there is a risk of sexual exploitation, grooming, coercion or other serious harm to children.
The protection of minors takes precedence over user interests, platform engagement considerations or content availability.
8. No Adjudication of Consent or Legality
ZOOP does not adjudicate questions relating to the legality of sexual conduct involving minors under local law, nor does it evaluate claims of consent or private arrangements between users. Any content or behaviour falling within the scope of this Policy is treated as prohibited and handled accordingly.
9. Global Application and Local Law Compliance
This Policy is intended to apply globally and is enforced in accordance with applicable child protection, criminal law, online safety and platform liability frameworks.
Where local laws impose additional or stricter obligations, including specific reporting requirements, timelines or cooperation duties, ZOOP complies with those requirements through local procedures, operational measures or technical controls, without modifying the substance of this Policy.
10. Reporting Child Safety Concerns
Users who become aware of content or behaviour that may violate this Policy are encouraged to report it immediately through ZOOP’s reporting mechanisms or by contacting ZOOP directly.
